Ada Hamilton-Ewbank

Ada Hamilton-Ewbank, 92, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus.  She was born on May 4, 1922 in Altro, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charlie and Rachel (Deaton) Stamper. Ada was a former employee of the old U.S. Shoe Corp. in Crothersville, Indiana  and also a former Lab Tech for Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana.  She was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church, an inactive member of the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild, the Scott County Senior Citizens Club and a former Poll Worker at Vienna Township #2 for many years. Ada was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. “Bob” Hamilton, on June 30, 1988 and her second husband, Donald E. Ewbank, on July 19, 1999; three brothers: Robert, Paul and Edger Stamper; four sisters: Hazel Mosier, Flo Reed, Ola Mosley and Fern Kelley.  Survivors include her daughter Wanda Lou Baker and her husband Lanny of Scottsburg, Indiana;  two sisters, Agnes Hensley of South Bend, Indiana and Flossie Barrett of Union, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Lana Morton, Rachele Baker and James Baker; four great grandchildren, Logan, Alex and Nick Morton and Marlie Baker; three step great grandchildren, Bethany Risley, Ashley Morton and Kailee Lynn; one step great great grandson, Harlan Risley and two step children. Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Friday, June 27, 2014 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ada, I know you're never ready for them to leave you. I think of Ada and Bob and your family with fond memories. I have lived in Mississippi for so long and do not get to see old friends a lot but I did not forget. You are in my prayers.
