Adria Lee Applegate

Adria Lee Applegate, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at her residence. She was born on April 17, 1928 in Lee County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Marvin and Callie (Cole) Combs. Adria was a former nurse’s aide at the old Scottsburg Nursing Home and also worked at Campbell’s Motel both in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was a member of the Seymour Community Church, enjoyed quilt making and operated a ministry at the Scott County Jail for 36 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Applegate; three brothers, Otis, James and Odell Combs and two sisters, Elloree Mays and Betty Mae Townsend. Survivors include six sons, Randall E. Applegate (Anna) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Andrew Applegate (Mary) of Seymour, Indiana, Michael R. Applegate (Malinda) of Winchester, Kentucky, Elza L. Applegate of Scottsburg, Indiana, Lloyd J. Applegate (Bunny) of Seymour, Indiana and James E. Applegate (Norita) of Crothersville, Indiana; three daughters, Lois Y. Campbell (Elbert) and Opal M. Bridgewater all of Scottsburg, Indiana and Tootsie Hatton (Jerry) of Somerset, Kentucky; a brother, Omer Combs (Juanita) of Austin, Indiana; two sisters, Jeanette Mays (Robert) of Stanton, Kentucky and Lucille Townsend of McKee, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.  Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.

Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Sunday.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery.
