Andrea Dawn “Ande” Shapinsky, 32, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on August 12, 1987 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Mark Shapinksy and Eugenia Collet Shapinsky.  Ande graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 2006, was a 5 year member of the Band of Warriors and received the John Phillip Sousa award her senior year. She previously worked as a duty aide at Scottsburg Elementary and had attended Indiana University Southeast before her cancer diagnosis at age 25. Ande was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, loved to make crafts, draw and paint and build Lego’s with her son Liam. She loved her dogs Pixie and Beatrice, camping with her family, loved life, all children and her family. Ande was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willard and Margaret Mullins and Robert and Edith Shapinsky.  Survivors include her son, Liam Shapinsky; Liam’s father, Tyler Blackwell of Scottsburg, Indiana; her father, Mark Shapinsky of Scottsburg, Indiana; her mother, Gene Ann Shawler of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Ashleigh Shapinsky of Scottsburg, Indiana and two nieces, Avereigh Ortega and Paizleigh Anderson. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
