Ann Horneman Embry, 89, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away on August 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born May 26, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Reyburn H. and Nellie Snyder Slack, and was raised by her aunt, Mabel Slack. She was a graduate of Atherton High School and she attended the University of Louisville. She was a devoted mother and worked at the Kentucky Printing House for the Blind and the Scott County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter August Horneman Jr.; parents, Reyburn H. Slack and Nellie Snyder Slack; sister, Sue McFarlane, son, Walter August Horneman III; aunt, Mable Slack; and three grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, James Embry; children, Rebecca H. Bernard, H. Carl Horneman (Becky), W. Frank Horneman (Jonnie), John Russell Horneman (Linda), and Rachel H. Park (Richard); sister, Mary Bergie; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home, 465 McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, IN. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
