Betty J. West

Betty J. West, 68, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her residence.   She was born on May 19, 1946 in Perry County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jonah and Molly (Bowling) Fields.  Betty was the owner of the old B.J.’s Bike Accessories and also a former employee and assistant manager of the Family Dollar Store both in Scottsburg, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Roger Fields and a sister, Billie Eversole.   Survivors include her husband, Mike West; a daughter, Lisa Robbins of Scottsburg, Indiana;  two sons, Huey Campbell of Salem, Indiana and Tommy West of Scottsburg, Indiana;  three brothers, George, A.J. and Rick Fields all of Hazard, Kentucky;  four sisters, Pat Stacy, Janice Hurt, Jettie Gayheart and Carol McDaniel all of Hazard, Kentucky and three grandchildren, Dustin and Laykin Robbins and Kassie Campbell. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and after 10 am Saturday at Big Creek Baptist Church in Hazard.   Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Big Creek Baptist Church in Hazard, Kentucky.  Interment will be in Eversole-Fields Family Cemetery in Hazard, Kentucky.

Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and after 10 am Saturday at Big Creek Baptist Church in Hazard.

Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Big Creek Baptist Church in Hazard, Kentucky. Interment will be in Eversole-Fields Family Cemetery in Hazard, Kentucky.

I have known Betty for 30 years, she was a momma you didn't want to mess with, she was a free spirit and lived her family very much. Betty will be missed by many, I love you Betty, may you rest in peace.
