I first met Bourke and his family in 1957, when we both moved to new homes on Shamrock Ave. in Santa Clara, CA. He was 5; I was 4. I remember sleeping over in the Ettling backyard or family room, and getting up early (4 am) to watch the launches of the Mercury and Gemini spacecraft from Cape Canaveral. We stayed in close touch through our teens, then lost touch for many years. We reconnected a couple of years ago. My deepest sympathy to Norma and the Ettling family.

Jenny and I miss Bourke both as a neighbor and as great help in the shop. His friendship was unlimited and He went out of His way to assist me when I needed it.

I remember My sisters and I would walk down the lane and pick blackberries, then we would share them with Bourke. He has been my neighbor since I can remember.
