Carl Napier

Carl Napier, 89, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on June 4, 1928 in Chavies, Kentucky, the son of the late Ludlow Napier and Mary (Couch) Napier-Richardson. Carl was a retired machine operator for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana and a former employee for Arvin Industries in Seymour, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran of WW II and past Master and 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge # 120 F & AM in Austin, Indiana and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Carl was married on Aug. 2, 1952 to Betty (Harris) Napier, who preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2016. In addition to his wife, Carl was preceded in death by a son, Bob Goens; two grandchildren, Kimberly Steinkamp and James Roy Zollman and six siblings.Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Fewell and her husband Danny Bowling of Scottsburg, Indiana and Peggy Bowling of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Jim Napier of Florida; a sister, Margaret Lewis of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Robbie, Tommy, Loren, and Faith Goens, Pam MacIntosh, Todd Weddle, Tammy Meeks, Barbara Howard and John Walker; ten great grandchildren and Eight great great grandchildren.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. Danny Bowling officiating. Visitation: 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday and after 10 AM on Thursday. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
