Carl Ray “Monk” Bryant, 69, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1944 in South Lebanon, Ohio, the son of the late York and Alafair (Hensley) Bryant. Carl Ray was retired from the old Emma J. Paydar Company in Chicago, Illinois, was a veteran of the Army National Guard, a member of the Men’s Auxiliary of the Scott County V.F.W. # 6582 and the American Legion Post # 234 all of Scottsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Ann Bryant and two sons, Cecil and Steven Bryant. Survivors include two sons, William Carl Bryant of Indiana and Jeffery Wayne Bryant of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Abe Bryant of Hanover, Massachusetts; a niece who cared for him, Diana Campbell of Scottsburg, Indiana, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. My papaw...god knows i miss got every day...i never imagined life with out hearing your voice. I can't wait till we meet again. I know your with me and the grandbabies all the time.
