Christina (Richey) Calloway-Bridgewater

Calloway-Bridgewater, Christina, 90, passed away on August 22,2015, in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Floyd L. and Mildred L. (Christie) Richey. Christina was married to Lyndon Calloway on June 16, 1946 until he passed away on July 19, 1973. She later married Ivan M. Bridgewater, Sr. on August 13, 1980 until his death on December 9, 1995. She was a retired secretary for the old Charlestown Powder Plant in Charlestown, Indiana for 12 1/2 years retiring April 9, 1976, also was employed as a bookkeeper for the old W.L. Hubbard Company for 3 years and was a former Deputy Scott County Recorder for 8 years. Christina was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana and a life resident of Scott County, Indiana. She graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1943, was a past member of the Scott County American Legion Post # 234 Ladies Auxiliary since 1946, past member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie # 655 in Seymour, Indiana, member of the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild for 14 1/2 years, Young at Heart Homemakers Club, the Widow’s Tea Club and a Lifetime Member of the 1st Armored Division Association. In addition to her husband’s, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Amos and Joe Richey. Survivors include three sons, Bill Calloway of Scottsburg, Indiana, Richard Bridgewater of Seymour, Indiana and Ivan M. Bridgewater, Jr. of Bradenton, Florida; five daughters, Lynda K. (Tom) Collings of Scottsburg, Indiana, Cherlyn (Bill) Helmbrecht of Columbus, Indiana, Carol (Richard) Tolen of Seymour, Indiana, Nancy Jo (Bill) Nichols of Indianapolis, Indiana and Linda (Rob) Foster of Marietta, Georgia; a sister: Dorothy Hall of North Vernon, Indiana; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral Service:
11:00 am Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Scottsburg First Baptist Church with entombment in Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation:
4 to 8 pm Monday at Collins
Funeral Home and after 9 am Tuesday at her church. Memorial Contributions:
