Dora L. Phillips, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at her son’s residence. She was born on May 17, 1934 in Dunmor, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lawrence Lyons and Flora (Johnson) Lyons. Dora graduated in 1952 from Dunmor High School and then earned an Associates Degree from the Catherine Spaulding Business College in Louisville, Kentucky. She was married on August 26, 1956 to William C. Phillips, who preceded her in death on October 12, 2007. Dora was a retired customer service representative for the old Bell South Company in Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked for 34 years. She was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, member and Past Treasurer of the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild, a member of the Queen Esther Order of the Eastern Star in Louisville, Kentucky and the Ladies Red Hat Society. In addition to her husband and parents, Dora was preceded in death by her twin brother, William Lyons and a sister, Dorothy Vincent. Survivors include her son, Jonathan W. Phillips and his wife Della of Scottsburg, Indiana and two grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail Phillips. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Jacob Phillips and Bro. Elmer Barger officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday and after 11 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.

I was their mailman when they moved here I really enjoyed talking to them. I loved your moms plants on the porch they were so pretty. Dora was so sweet and I will miss her so much.
