Elizabeth L. “Betty” Skelton

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Skelton, 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on July 10, 1926 in Petaluma, California, the daughter of the late William B. Price and Mary (O’Connell) Price. Betty was a retired employee of the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana and also formerly worked at Travis Air Force Base in California before moving to Indiana. She was the oldest living member of the Church of the American Martyrs in Scottsburg, Indiana and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Betty was also a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Skelton on April 4, 1976 and several siblings. Survivors include two sons, Patrick G. Skelton and his wife Nancy of Gibson, North Carolina and Robert P. Skelton and his wife Phyllis of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Harry Price of California; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 am Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Church of the American Martyrs with Father Joseph L. Villa officiating. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and burial will be following the Mass in Scottsburg Cemetery.
