Ellen Gaye Eversole, 89, of Deputy, Indiana, died on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. She was born on March 24, 1924 in Grassy Branch, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Horry and Bertha (Deaton) Campbell. Ellen was married on Aug. 3, 1941 to James C. Eversole, Jr., who died on Sept. 18, 2008. She was a homemaker and worked for a short time during the war for Morgan Foods. Ellen was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana, the Deputy Homemakers Club and loved traveling, taking care of her family, spoiling her children and grandchildren, as well as her husband. She liked basketball and was always ready to watch, especially Kentucky and the Pacers. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara G. Uebel; two sisters, Gladys and Avis Campbell and three brothers, Deane, Eugene and Clayborne Campbell. Survivors include a son, James B. Eversole and his wife Shirley of Columbus, Indiana; three daughters, Carolyn J. Eversole of Hanover, Indiana, Doris J. Lewis and her husband Marvin of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Robin A. Baker and her husband Tom of Nashville, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Ruth Eversole of Hamilton, Ohio; seven granchildren, Mary McClanahan, Shawn Uebel, Leslie Webster, Bill Eversole, Trisha Smith, Sara Dorgan and Ryan Eversole; ten great grandchildren, Cody Kelly, Elijah Steele, Dennis and Daniel Webster, Chance Uebel, James Anthony, Tyler and Ashlea Eversole, Tharan Smith and Nolan James Eversole; five step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.
