Geneva S. Moody

Geneva S. Moody, 94, of Little York, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 the day before Easter, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on New Years Day, 1921, in Salem, Indiana, the daughter of the late Roy and Josephine  (Winslow) Spaulding.  Geneva was a homemaker, a cook, a gardener and a member of the First Congregational Church in Elgin, Illinois, where she lived most of her married life (57 years).  Geneva was a joy to be around.  She made everyone feel special and important. She took walks outside everyday even in her 90’s.  She loved to play golf and was an avid bridge player belonging to 7 bridge clubs in Elgin.  She actively volunteered throughout her life helping as many people as possible. Her family and friends were at the top of her list.  She had many travels with her sisters (Katie and Colleen) around the country even as far away as New Zealand.  She was married in 1945 to Oral  Moody, who preceded her in death in July of 2011.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Roger, Everett and Charles Spaulding and his twin sister, Rama Lea McCoskey, Lorene Hamilton, Katie Williams and Anita Haven.  Survivors include a daughter, Sharron (Donald) Disque of West Hartford, CT;  a son, Ron Moody of Minneapolis, Minnesota;  two sisters, Colleen Baldwin of Scottsburg, Indiana and Gladys Horn of Salem, Indiana; a brother, Junior “J.R.” (Ginny) Spaulding of Scottsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.   Memorial Contributions: Mount Cemetery Association c/o Collins Funeral Home  465 W.
