Helen Zaring, 87, of Elizabethtown, Indiana, died on Friday, July 4, 2014 at  Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana.   She was born on November 9, 1926 in Washington County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Jeptha and Rosa (Hopkins) McCleery.  Helen was married Oct. 9, 1944 to Howard J. Zaring, who preceded her in death on April 2, 2007.  She was retired from the Four Seasons Retirement Home in Columbus, Indiana, was a member of the Elizabethtown Christian Church and a former member of the old War Mothers Association Chapter # 105 in Elizabethtown, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by six brothers, Harry, John, Ralph, Robert Dale, Ray and Everett McCleery and four sisters, Ella Scifres, Minnie Zaring, Bessie Henline and Kathleen GaterSurvivors include two sons, Billy Zaring (Susan) of Columbus, Indiana and Bruce A. Zaring (Tammy) of Taylorsville, Indiana;  two daughters, Joyce Hale of Indianapolis, Indiana and Phyllis J. Parks (Roger) of Idlewood, Tennessee;  a sister, Juanita Ross of Columbus, Indiana; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net.  

Visitation: 5 to 7 pm Tuesday and after noon Wednesday.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Gater Cemetery in Washington County, Indiana.
