Jackie Lee Morgan

Jackie Lee Morgan, 79, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 10, 1939 in Austin, Indiana, the son of the late Herbert and Ruby (Adkinson) Morgan.  Jackie was a retired Auto Body Technician for Sebastian’s Body Shop in Austin, Indiana and had previously worked at the old Nick’s Body Shop and the old Wesson Body Shop.  He was the longest standing active member of the Austin First Baptist Church and a member of the Clark County Casting and Conservation Club.  Jackie enjoyed woodworking, horticulture, was an avid walker and could often be seen around town and in Walmart walking. Survivors include his wife, Cathy J. Morgan of Austin, Indiana; a son, Jeffrey S. Morgan and his companion Shawna Avendano of Utica, Indiana; two sisters, Patsy Smith of Austin, Indiana and Dixie Jo Broady of Burleson, Texas; his granddaughter, Mercedez Morgan and her fiance’, Carlos Estrada Valadez of Henryville, Indiana. Funeral Service: 7:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 pm on Monday at Collins Funeral Home. Cremation is requested following Jackie’s services with private inurnment later in Austin Cemetery.
