James Blevins, 86, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on January 25, 1933 in Dizney, Kentucky, the son of the late Ranson Blevins and Lilly (Neff) Blevins. Jim was married on May 20, 1950 to Nola Cox. He retired in 1998 as a foreman from Kentucky Trailer in Louisville, Kentucky where he worked for 42 years and also loved farming. He was a member of Chelsea Church of God. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Blevins and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of nearly 69 years, Nola Blevins; a daughter, Lana G. Cecil and her husband Ralph of Charlestown, Indiana; a son, Larry Blevins and his wife Marcia of Scottsburg, Indiana; a very special person that was like a son, Rodney Hardin and his wife Marlene of Bullitt County, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Michael Blevins (JoAnn), Ryan Blevins (Andrea), Jason Blevins (Stephanie), Melissa Baker (Paul), Karen Middleton (Jason) and Alison Roberts (Dan); twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Memorial Contributions may be given to Lexington Cemetery Association in memory of Jim c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Eversole officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Monday and after 9:00 am on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be in Lexington Cemetery.
