James  "Jim" Hale

James “Jim” Hale, 73, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of the late James Hale, Sr. and Rebecca (Woods) Hale. Jim was a former employee of General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky and also a residential contractor for Jent Construction. He was a member of Solid Rock Community Church near Austin, Indiana, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed hunting ginseng and fishing in his spare time. Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Hale, James Howard Hale and Willie Hale and three sisters, Polly, Alice and Margaret Ann. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Velma L. (Cox) Hale; three sons, Tim (Shelley) Hale of Florence, Kentucky, Nathan Hale of Lexington, Indiana and Daniel Hale of Seymour, Indiana; a daughter, Kathy Hale of Evarts, Kentucky; three sisters, Irene Cloud of Harlan, Kentucky, Wanda Williams of London, Kentucky and Sue (Ronald) Turner of Sydney, Ohio and four grandchildren, Andrew, Shelbie, and Cody Hale and Tyler Risner.

Funeral Service:
10:00 am Friday, October 2, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation:
4 to 8 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday. Memorial Contributions: Solid Rock Community Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
