Jean Kirby, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on September 24, 1937 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Albert and Carrie Virginia (Sadler) Hampton and graduated from Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky. Jean was a retired Program Review Assistant for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture in Scottsburg and North Vernon, Indiana and attended the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Wesley and James Albert Hampton. Survivors include her husband, Ken Kirby; two sons, Steve Kirby of Franklin, Kentucky and Doug Kirby (Pam) of Underwood, Indiana; a brother, Donald Wayne Hampton (Elaine) of Winchester, Kentucky; a sister, Brenda Sue Prather (Bobbie) of Lexington, Kentucky and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob Kirby.   Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
