Jeanne Colleen Hedge, 59, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on May 30, 1960 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of Paul R. and Barbara J. (Belshaw) Hedge. Jeanne graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1978 and then earned a Bachelors Degree from Purdue University in 1983. She was a former Indiana OSHA Inspector in Indianapolis, Indiana and also had worked as a Nuclear Health Physicist and a computer programmer. Jeanne was a member of the United Methodist Church, Past State President and Secretary of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority and a member of the local Theta Alpha Chapter. She enjoyed researching her families genealogy and was a huge sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Paul R. Hedge and grandparents, George and Dorothy Belshaw and Paul L. and Mayme Hedge. Survivors include her mother, Barbara J. Hedge of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Scott Hedge and his wife Michelle of Austin, Indiana; one nephew, Jacob Hedge; three nieces, Ashley Deaton Hedge, Gracee and Ellee Hedge and four cousins, Peggy Miller Lofton, Pam Miller Helfrich, Cinda Dunn and Mike Hedge. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Phi Beta Psi Cancer Research c/o Collins Funeral Home, 465 W. McClain Ave., Scottsburg, Indiana 47170.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Waggoner officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Friday and after 10 am on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.

Jeanne served our sorority in so many ways. She and I were initiated at the same time. I will always remember that. She was a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed.

Jeanne & I never met, but we were both members of a cat-lovers group on Facebook, and before that, on the old usenet newsgroups. She will be missed.
