Larry J. Shawler, 63, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on May 10, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of the late Paul F. and Irma L. (Kemp) Shawler. Larry graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1975 and later married Gene Ann (Collet). He was a mechanic starting with L & N Railroad and then worked the majority of his 38 year career with CSX Transportation, retiring in July of 2015. He was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Larry loved the NHRA and Street Rods. He enjoyed working on cars and could fix anything. His pride and joy is a 1931 Model A Custom Coupe that he named “Blue Moon.” Survivors include his wife, Gene Ann; two sons, Jamie Paul Shawler and wife Jill of Dalton, Georgia and Travis Joe Shawler and wife Sherrie of Jasper, Tennessee; two stepdaughters, Ashleigh and Andrea Shapinsky both of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Wilma J. Jackson of Marietta, Georgia and seven grandchildren, Dawson, Avereigh, Paizleigh, Liam, Cheyanne, Summer and Justin. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Waggoner officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 11 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
