Mack Nichols, Jr., 84 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. Mack was born on June 7, 1932 in Kyles Ford, Tennesse, the son of the late Mack Henry and Kate Alice (Chandler) Nichols. He was a retired employee for the old Arvin Industries in Seymour, Indiana and also a retired farmer. He was a member of Zoah Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and lived most of his life in Scott County, Indiana. He graduated from Scottsburg High School, Class of 1952, a member of the Moose Family Center # 2324, American Legion Post # 234 and the Scott County VFW Post # 6582. Mack also enjoyed watching basketball, especially Indiana University Basketball. He was married on Sept. 15, 1957 to Gloria Jean (Harper) Nichols, who survives. Other survivors include: a son: Jeff and wife Gina Nichols of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother: James and wife Joyce Nichols of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister: Joan and husband Morris Taylor of Richmond, Kentucky. Two grandchildren, Jay and Juliet Nichols of Scottsburg and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Ganelle Judy Ford, Juanita Wynn, Lorene Armilo and Emma Jean James.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Thomas officiating. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.

OUR UNCLE MACK WAS AWESOME. WE ALWAYS CALLED EACH OTHER DURING THE IU BALL GAMES AND DISCUSSED THE GAME PLAYS AND HOW THEY COULD DO BETTER. HE LOVED WATCHING BILL MAC AND BOB DO THEIR MAGIC ON THE BASKETBALL COURTS. BUT LITTLE "TOM PIG" WILL ALWAYS BE HIS FAVORITE. WE WILL MISS HIM GREATLY...
