Nick Macahan, 66, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born and named Gordon Nicholson on December 20, 1952 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Eugene Nicholson and Mary Dale (Breedlove) Nicholson. Nick was a former professor at Ivy Tech Community College and an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by a great nephew, Robert Leavitt. Survivors include a sister, Rise Colwell and husband Michael of Marion, Indiana; a niece, Vickie Hoffheins and husband Jason; a nephew, Tim Colwell and two special friends, Dean Mullins and Richard Burch. Memorial Contributions may be given to the National Wildlife Federation, National Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary or the World Worldlife Fund.
