Paul Edward Cravens

Paul Edward Cravens, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Riverview Village in Clarksville, Indiana.  He was born on April 3, 1935 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Maxwell and Ida (Dahlenburg) Cravens.  He was married on Oct. 30, 1998 to Glenna (Riley) Cravens who survives of Scottsburg, Indiana.  Paul was the owner and operator of the old Cravens Tire Mart in Scottsburg, Indiana.  Prior to owning the tire mart, he set pins by hand at the old bowling alley, also worked at the old Texaco Gas Station and helped replace railroad tracks between Scottsburg and Louisville.  He worked for Hilton and Bob Jones at the old Jones Tire Shop before purchasing and renaming it.  Paul served in the Air Force Reserves for many years at Bowman Field in Louisville, Kentucky, was a member of the Zoah Christian Church and the Moose Family Center # 2324 in Scottsburg, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by a son, Paul David Cravens; a daughter, Teresa Trulock; two sisters, Bertha Faye Cravens and Rachel Beswick-Briner and three brothers, Alfred, Wilfred and Wilmer Zarse. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Tena Edwards (Ronnie) and Gina Powell (Donnie) all of Scottsburg, Indiana; five granddaughters, Monique Bruce (David), Nicole Swank (Kasey), Shannon Davis (Chris), Krystal Mount and Aimee Roman (Justin);  eleven great grandchildren, Dawson, Parker and Zander Bruce, Ethan and Cason Swank, Allison and Hailey Davis, Preston Newton, Aiden, Addyson and Avery Roman, several nieces and nephews and his previous wife and mother of his children,America Jane Cravens of Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Zoah Cemetery.

Sorry to hear about Paul My husband drove a van hauling riders to Cummins for about 25 years and we bougt a lot of tires from Paul. We always enjoyed seeing him and recommended him to family and friends.
