Richard Joseph Povliches, 69, of Underwood, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on December 24, 1946 in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, the son of Joseph Povliches and Shirley (Walk) Ingraham. Richard graduated from Valley High School in 1965. He was a retired forklift operator for Boland-Maloney Lumber Company in Louisville, Kentucky and also a former employee of the old Louisville Slugger Bat Factory in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a member and Chaplain at the American Legion Post # 234, Junior Vice Commander, member and trustee for the house committee of the Scott County VFW Post # 6582 and member of the Scott County Moose Family Center # 2324. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen S. (Hill) Povliches; a son, John S. Povliches of Rescue, California; a daughter, Nancy Povliches of Davisville, Missouri; his mother, Shirley Ingram of St. Petersburg, Florida; a brother, Todd Casebier of St. Petersburg, Florida and two grandchildren, John and Grace Ann Povliches. Funeral Service: 10:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and after 9 am Tuesday.
