Robert W. “Bob” Austin

Robert W. “Bob” Austin, 99, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, the son of the late William and Viola (Moore) Austin. Bob was a retired truck driver for Mayflower, former employee of the old Charlestown Powder Plant, Morgan Packing Company and was a retired reserve deputy sheriff for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Austin Christian Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and a 50 year member of the English Lodge # 622 F & AM in Lexington, Indiana. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Edward Lee Austin and a sister, Gertrude Robison. Survivors include his wife, Viola Lee (Fellows) Austin; a son, Bill Austin of Madison, Indiana; three stepdaughters, Dolores Lowry (Terry), Glenna L. Cravens and Julia A. Barger all of Scottsburg, Indiana; 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.

2:00 pm Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Scaffold Lick Cemetery.
Visitation:
11 am to 2 pm Sunday at
