Ronald Dean “RD” Robertson

Ronald Dean “RD” Robertson, 77, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on December 18, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Rollie Francis Robertson and Lula Mae (Patton) Robertson.  Ron was retired from Cummins Engine Company, working at the Columbus, Seymour and Madison locations for 30 years, retiring in 1995.  He graduated from Henryville High School in 1957, was a member of the Scottsburg Church of God on Boatman Road in Scottsburg, Indiana and the Scott County Right to Life.  Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Flaherty and three brothers, Donald, Louis and Dr. Robert Robertson.  Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Virginia (Loy) Robertson; four sons, Ron Robertson, Jr. (Beth) of Orlando, Florida, Martin “Marty” Robertson (Marge) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Robert Robertson (Amy) of Hamilton, Ohio and Donn Robertson of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Debbie Robertson-Hawkins of Seymour, Indiana and Kristi Robertson of Henryville, Indiana; a sister, Barbara Jane McNay of Sellersburg, Indiana; four brothers, Thomas Robertson and Dennis Robertson both of Henryville, Indiana, James David Robertson of Newberry Park, California and Richard Robertson of Otisco, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, Miranda, Mediá, Andrew, Moses, Desireé, Morgan, Sierra, Ashton and Kirsten Robertson, Kayla and Kalie Brown, Kimber Hawkins and Markus Fleenor and six great grandchildren; Lucas, Lydia, Alexis, Taylyn, Jase, and Ellie Kay.

Funeral Service:
11:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2016 at Scottsburg Church of God on Boatman Road with burial in
Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, Indiana.
Visitation:
4 to 8 PM on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana and from 9 to 11
AM Friday at the church. A bereavement meal with be served by members of his church immediately following the interment at the Collins Family Center in Scottsburg, Indiana.

I only knew Bro Robertson through his son Marty. Because of Marty I knew him to be a man of character. He will for eternity enjoy his rewards in heaven. For us still living in time we have the Hope in Jesus Christ our saviour of meeting again. May God's peace comfort our tempory loss.
