Thomas L. Gibson, 78, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on July 12, 1938 in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late John M. and Marian (Seawright) Gibson. Tom was a retired supervisor for Jet Rubber Company in Northern Ohio and also had been a horse farrier. He was a U.S. Army veteran and also had volunteered at VA Hospital in Louisville as a van driver and a patient escort. Tom was a talented musician and had formerly belonged to a Dixieland Band. He was a member of a Chess Club, enjoyed choir singing, was an avid bicyclist, gardener and gourmet cook. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Greer Bette. Survivors include his life partner, Ellen M. Fox of Scottsburg, Indiana; three sisters, Kathy Quarcini, Gretchen Gibson and Linda Dillard as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
