Timothy Keith Young, 68, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on September 11, 1949 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of the late Francis and Ellen (Blue) Young. Tim was an employee of Genesis Plastics and before going back to work there, he had retired from ILPEA Industries in Scottsburg, Indiana. He had attended the Zoah Christian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. Tim enjoyed tinkering with all kinds of vehicles, including his cars and lawn mowers. He enjoyed caring for his dogs and horses at his house, but especially loved being around his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Young and a very special nephew, Tony Warren. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Melba J. (Short) Young; a stepdaughter, Angela Stoner and husband Daniel of Marysville, Indiana; two stepsons, Todd Whobrey and wife Crystal of Scottsburg, Indiana and Delbert Travis Whobrey and wife Jessica of Crystal Springs, Florida; two sisters, Cheryl Scott and Marcia Seffert both of Lafayette, Indiana; a brother, Joseph Young of Lafayette, Indiana; four children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday. Interment will be in Zoah Cemetery.
