William D. Huckleberry, 76, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Baptist Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Underwood, Indiana, the son of the late Elmer J. Huckleberry and Hazel F. (Hall) Huckleberry. William was a retired machine operator for the old Reliance Electric in Columbus, Indiana, where he worked for 33 years, retiring in 1998 and a member of Underwood Baptist Church in Underwood, Indiana. He enjoyed pitching horse shoes and competing in bowling leagues. William was married on May 25, 1963 to Judy N. (Petty) Huckleberry, who survives. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil Hall, Merl, Elmer V., James and Don Huckleberry and a sister, Norma Brown. Survivors in addition to his wife Judy include a daughter, Sherri Fuller of Hartsell, Alabama; a son, Dale E. Huckleberry and his wife Cindy of Crothersville, Indiana; a brother, Leroy Huckleberry and his wife Lee of Hartford City, Indiana; a sister, Emogene Hogan of Hartford City, Indiana; six grandchildren: Mark, Elaine, Zoey, Wyatt, Nikki and Warren and four great grandchildren, Chloe, Noah, Atticus and Skylar.
