William R. “Bill” Gibson

William R. “Bill” Gibson, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on July 20, 1945 in Champagne, Illinois, the son of the late Clyde Gibson and Thelma (Oaks) Page. Bill was a retired employee of Costco in Columbus, Indiana, where he worked for 20 years. He was also a former supervisor for Hudson Construction in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a self employed contractor and had attended the Safe Harbor Church of God in Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Millie (DeHart) Gibson; a stepson, Joe Max Smith; a brother, Elmer T. Gibson and three sisters, Caroline Sue Wilson, Patricia Bateman and Mary Catherine Page. Survivors include a son, Chase Gibson of Scottsburg, Indiana and a stepson, Jess Smith of Scottsburg, Indiana and two stepgrandchildren. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 20,2019 at Scottsburg Cemetery with Pastor Billy Joe Deaton officiating.
