Wilma J. Sarver

Wilma J. Sarver, 97, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on September 27, 1919 in Warren County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Herron Winfield Collins and Roxie Mae (Limm) Collins. Wilma was a retired assistant secretary for the Scottsburg Building & Loan in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she also served and retired as a Board of Director. She was a member of First Christian Church, past Treasurer of the Scott County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, a recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus Award of Scottsburg High School in 1987, a former vice president and member of the PTA of Scottsburg and a past president of the Scottsburg High School Band Parents. She was married on Sept. 7, 1940 to J. Bruce Sarver, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1976. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Martin. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Booker of Gainesville, Virginia and Jeanne Stein and her husband Gary of Greenwood, Indiana; five grandchildren, Steve (Misti), Mike (Jennifer) and Brent (Katie) Booker, Julie (Kyle) Smith and Stephanie (Bob) Woerner and eight great grandchildren, John, Andrew, Natalie, Matthew, Jessica, Allison and Alex Booker and Claire Woerner. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Phil LaMaster and John Lowry officiating. Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Wednesday. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery
