Ailean Abner McNeeley, 78, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born on February 16, 1941 near Buckhorn, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Britt Abner and Lottie (Abner) Strong. Ailean was married on March 3, 1973 to Donald Ray McNeeley, who passed away on April 19, 2004. She was a retired attendant at the old Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana and a member of the Buckhorn Baptist Church near Buckhorn, Kentucky. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nina Rae Keown; a sister, Bernice McNeeley and a brother, Willie Strong. Survivors include a son, Roy Lee Deaton of Lexington, Indiana; a daughter, Debra Kay McNeeley Conover (Lloyd) of Lexington, Indiana; two sisters, Teresa Diaz-Green and Ethel Golden both of Lexington, Indiana; a brother, Don Strong of Lexington, Indiana; three grandchildren, Leanne Deaton, who she raised, Mitchell Keown,and Erin Kelly and seven great grandchildren, Caylee, Carlee, Elmon, Jalen, Bailey, Mitchell and Riley.
