She was born on June 12, 1943 in Deputy, Indiana, the daughter of the late John Everett Perkinson and Geneva Mae (Peacock) Perkinson. Barbara graduated from Scottsburg High School and then earned a Bachelors Degree from the old Marion College, now known as Indiana Wesleyan University. She was a member of the Christian Pilgrim Holiness Church in Austin, Indiana, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Youth Leader and was their Pianist. She more recently attended Alpha Baptist Church near her home in Deputy, Indiana. When Barbara was in college she studied Greek so that she could have a better understanding of the Bible which she loved to read and research. Barbara enjoyed working outdoors not only at her own residence, but for nearly 20 years she maintained the Jefferson County Holiness Tabernacle grounds. She was a outstanding cook, enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie and in her younger years was a great softball player. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Ann Mayhew. Bowman and his wife Christie of Deputy, Indiana; three brothers, Jackie Perkinson of Scottsburg, Indiana, Gary Perkinson and his wife Shirley and John M. Was sorry to hear of Barbara passing away. I went to school with her at Frankfort and was her roommate at Marion College. We also sang in a trio together with Madeline Maddox in our college days. She was an inspiration to me. She always looked for the good in everyone and had a bubbly personality. May God give you peace during this time of grief for your loving mother, sister and grandmother. God bless you all.
