Brenda J. Rider, 67, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born on March 31, 1949 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Arthur Batman and Sarah Gertrude (Parrott) Batman. Brenda was retired from the old Reliance Electric in Columbus, Indiana and enjoyed playing softball when she was younger. She was married on Nov. 21, 1964 to Russell G. Rider, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Russell R. Rider of Scottsburg and Dustin Ray Rider and his wife Mary of Vienna, Indiana; two daughters, Lisa D. Hendrix and her husband Tim of Clarksville, Indiana and Kimberly Grider of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Arthur Paul “Nookie” Batman of Austin, Indiana; a sister, Barbara Barnard of Columbus, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
