Carrie L. Simpson, 56, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on September 19, 1960 in Bardstown, Kentucky, the daughter of Herman Hershell Simpson Sr. and Ruth M. (Reynolds) Simpson. Carrie graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1979 and enjoyed reading and adult coloring books. She was a former employee of Casey’s General Store and Walmart and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Carrie was preceded in death by her father and a son, Nathaniel A. Simpson. Survivors include her daughter, Kiya Knight of Scottsburg, Indiana; her mother, Ruth M. Simpson of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Herman Hershell Simpson, Jr, and David Allan Simpson both of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Alice Sandman and Brenda Sue Simpson both of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
