Celia Ann Coomer

Celia Ann Coomer, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1942 in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Benjamin King and Roxie (Frances) King. Celia helped start and was a Director for the O.V.O Program in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she had also been a van driver and head teacher. In addition, she had worked and retired from Travel Matic in Seymour, Indiana. Celia graduated from Austin High School, was a member of the Ivy Hill Baptist Church near Underwood, Indiana and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and loved hummingbirds. She was married on September 14. 1960 to Willie Coomer, Sr., who survives. Celia was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Donald, and Danny King; a grandson, Nathan Spicer and a daughter in law, Teresa K. (Hickman) Coomer. In addition to her husband, Willie, Sr. she is survived by three sons, Willie Coomer, Jr., Benjamin Ray Coomer and Steven Russell Coomer all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a daughter, Teresa C. White of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Robert Conrad (RC) King and his wife Betsy of North Vernon, Indiana and Benny Lynn King and his wife Sandy of Austin, Indiana; a sister, Janet Louise Eurton and her husband Joe of Borden, Indiana; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Memorial Contributions: To her family c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Sunday. Cremation is requested following her service with burial at a later date in New Providence Cemetery near Austin, Indiana.
