Charles Robert “Bob” Moore, 78, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1936 in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of the late Walter L. and Beulah Mae (Boots) Moore. Bob was the former owner and operator of the Scottsburg Sale Barn and also a self-employed logger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, a member of the Moose Family Center # 2324, former member of the Westwood Gold Club. Bob enjoyed golf, archery and had owned quarter horses. He also participated and competed in quarter horse and archery events. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Winfred Lee and Walter Von Moore. Survivors include his friend and companion Dee Dougan of Scottsburg, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Angel Groce of Chesapeake, Virginia and Shelley Smith (Keith) of Newport News, Virginia; three sisters, Emma Jo Roberts (Bill), Anna Moore and Darliene Haley (Iyod) all of Lexington, Kentucky and three step grandchildren. Cremation was requested and a Celebration of Bob’s Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
