David Martin West, 29, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence. He graduated from Scottsburg High School in 2002 and also earned a bachelors degree in Building Construction Management from Purdue University. David was an employee of Scott’s Mowing & Landscaping in Scottsburg, Indiana, owner of Huck’s Barbecue, a former project manager for Ryan Homes in Dayton, Ohio and served during the Iraq War as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley Harrod and Harold and Joan West. Survivors include a son, Lucas West of Scottsburg, Indiana; his parents, Pete and Judy West of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Andrea Gibson and her husband Greg of Lexington, Indiana; a grandmother, Betty Harrod of Scottsburg, Indiana; nephew and niece, Ryan David and Hope Elizabeth Gibson and his wife, Kayli West.
