Daw J. “DJ” White, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on August 16, 1948 in Anco, Kentucky, the son of the late Daw White, Sr. and Lucy (West) White. DJ graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1966 and enlisted to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, but was medically discharged after basic training. He was married on April 11, 1970 in Madison, Indiana to the former Mary Sue Vandewater. DJ was a former forklift operator for Pepsi in Austin, Indiana. In addition, he also had worked as the parts and service manager for the old White’s Automotive and Daw White Ford Dealership in Scottsburg, Indiana. He also had worked in the parts department at the old Arbuckle Chevrolet Dealership in Scottsburg, Indiana. DJ was a member of the Church of the American Martyrs, a former member of the Quick Creek BASS Masters Club in Scott County, enjoyed fishing, target shooting and mowing. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sue White; a son, Scott White and his wife Ginger of Seymour, Indiana; three daughters, Kim Gullion and her husband Wayne of Zionsville, Indiana, Katy Spicer and her husband Chris and Emily Ann White all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Dale White and his wife Vicki of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Susan Bowling and her husband Greg of Charlestown, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ethan Gullion, Kyle, Silas and Sadie Spicer, numerous brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews.
