Deborah J. “Debbie” Thurman, 61, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. She was born on August 1, 1956 in Palm Beach, Florida, the daughter of the late Riley Flesher and Arleen (Borms) Flesher. Debbie graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1974 and then earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts at Cypress College in Cypress, California. She was married on April 1, 1980 to Michael W. Thurman, who passed away on October 20, 2015. Debbie was the owner and operator of Triple T Trucking and Jani-King Janitorial Service and had attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Leota, Indiana. She enjoyed being creative, doing art work and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Christie Henderson and husband Gabriel of Austin, Indiana; a sister, Jenine Walton and husband Jim of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Dale Flesher and wife Nancy of Lexington, Indiana; three grandsons, Tyler, Noah and Hunter Henderson; two nephews, Dr. James Walton and Christopher Flesher and a niece, Bethany Flesher.
