Donald Lee “Don” Prewitt, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on September 11, 1939 in New Washington, Indiana, the son of the late Stanley Prewitt and Gladys (Smith) Prewitt-Tellman. Don retired in 1998 as a conductor for the old Conrail Railroad in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Moose Family Center # 2324 and a supporter of Kid’s First. Don enjoyed playing cards, fishing and playing pool. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Prewitt, Jr. and two sisters, Betty Meador and Mary Helen Reynolds. Survivors include his wife, Diana L. (Cozart) Prewitt; a son, Alex Prewitt and his wife Deborah of Louisville, Kentucky; two daughters, Stephanie Smith and her husband Keith of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Jennifer Locke of Scottsburg, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Jared, Bethany, Brock, Riley, Luke, Ethan, Kegan and Christie and six great grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be given to Kid’s First c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
