Dortha Meeks, 88, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Columbus.  She was born in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Wingfield and Fannie Mae (Wolfe) Wingfield.  Dortha was a homemaker, attended the Green Street Chapel in Scottsburg, Indiana and lived in Scottsburg for most of life before moving to Columbus to be near her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Meeks on May 14, 1989; a brother, Morris Wingfield and a sister, Loraine Reinier.  Survivors include a daughter, Janice F. Hand (Kenneth) of Columbus, Indiana;  two sons, Johnny R. Meeks (Susan LaFary) of Columbus, Indiana and Douglas N.
