Dr. Michael D. Mount, 75, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Beehive Homes in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born in Scottsburg, Indiana on March 12, 1944, the son of the late Wilbur Mount and Hazel (Myers) Mount. Mike graduated from Salem High School in 1962 as Valedictorian of his class. He continued his education and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in 1966 and then graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1969. Dr. Mount was married on October 10, 1970 to Cynthia Mae Brown. He practiced dentistry for thirty years, retiring in 1999 and was former part owner of the Scott County Medical Arts Building in Scottsburg, Indiana. Mike was a member of Little York United Methodist Church and enjoyed collecting antiques. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Cindy Mount; two sons, Jason Mount and his wife Shannon of Scottsburg, Indiana and Christian Mount of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter, Erin Houchin and her husband Dustin of Salem, Indiana; a brother, David Mount and his wife Barbara of Canton, Indiana; a sister, Juanita Johnson and her husband Dale of Scottsburg, Indiana and ten grandchildren, Kaleb, Isaak, Eliza, Rachael, Taylor, Reagan and Madison Mount and Claire, Elaine and Graham Houchin.
