Eugene Ray Heacock, 84, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on April 23, 1930 in Jackson County, Indiana, the son of the late Millard Ray and Cordelia May (Vieling) Heacock. Eugene was the owner and operator of the old Heacock’s Carpet and Upholstery Store in Scottsburg, Indiana from 1968 to 2011, was also a former agent for the old Railway Express Agency and a former Electrolux vacuum cleaner salesman and a member of the First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Johnson) Heacock; a son, Raymond Heacock; a daughter, Teresa Heacock and a sister, Dorothy June Heacock Peacock. Survivors include his son, Steven R. Heacock (Debbie Jo) of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Rhonda Jean Stephens (Douglas Alan) of Austin, Indiana and Kathy Sue Goen (Allen) of Seymour, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lannea Knowles (Jamie), Ryan Heacock (Kayla), Matt Baker and Rikki Heacock; four great grandchildren, Jayla Hahn, Maxim Grinage, Lia Knowles and Joey Heacock and longtime companion, Doris WIlliams.
