Faye D. Cruz, 86, of Deputy, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on October 30, 1930 in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of the late Marguerite Emily (Clark) Davenport. Faye, a graduate of the University of Louisville, earned her master’s degree in education. After 30 years of service, she retired from Johnson Elementary School in Scott County, Indiana. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Alpha Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana, where she belonged to the Ladies Missionary Society. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched and those who loved her. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Henry F. Cruz; a daughter, Emily B. Cruz of Columbus, Indiana; a son, Timothy D. Cruz and his wife Beverly of Deputy, Indiana; a sister, Betty Welden and her husband George of Evansville, Indiana; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family of Faye D. Cruz wishes to express our deep appreciation for the many expressions of love, concern, kindness, payers and condolences offered during this difficult time.
