Franklin D. Bowling, 80, of Salem, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Meadow View Health & Rehab Center in Salem, Indiana. He was born on June 12, 1937 in Knolltown, Indiana, the son of the late Buckner and Mary (Sasser) Bowling. Frank was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Wonder Bread in Indianapolis, Indiana, a former maintenance man at the Murat Shrine Temple in Indianapolis, Indiana and also a construction worker. He was a member of the Church of God in Salem, Indiana, loved woodworking and painting. Frank was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Fry; four brothers, Zeke, George, Emory and Oliver Bowling and one sister, Angie Kojai. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Becky (Holland) Bowling; three daughters Donna J. Fry and husband Neal of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tammy A. Jordan of Salem, Indiana and Sandra D. Gibson and husband Jeff of Borden, Indiana; a son, Terry L. Bowling and wife Anita of McCordsville, Indiana; a sister, Juanita Lawson of Las Vegas, Nevada; eleven grandchildren, J.J. Cheezum, Amber and Zachary Allen, E.J. Jordan, Brandy, Karmen and Greggory Lewis, Ember Gibson, Abigail Collins, Jeremy Bowling and Stacey Smith; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Although I did not know Mr. Bowling, death is still a very sad occasion that robs us of our loved ones. I hope that the surviving family members can find a measure of peace in knowing that soon death will no longer exist as stated at Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:3,4.
