Gale P. Lueck, Sr., 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on April 22, 1923 in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, the son of the late Christian and Cassie (Olsen) Lueck and was married on May 18, 1968 to Maurine (Newby) Lueck. Gale was the owner and operator of the old Lueck Construction Company in Denver, Colorado for over 60 years and was one of Denver’s oldest licensed contractors and was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II. Survivors include his wife, Maurine (Newby) Lueck; their daughter, Sheena Hackstaff (Eddie) of Denver, Colorado; his five sons, Richard Lueck (Eloise) of North Glenn, Colorado, Ronald, Virgil and Gerald Lueck all of Stratton, Colorado and Gale P. Lueck, Jr. of Mack, Colorado; three stepdaughters, Teresa Banda (Ramon) of Austin, Indiana, Beverly Hicks of Scottsburg, Indiana and Debra Gilbert (Scott) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two stepsons, Billy Ray Hicks (Sandi) of Denver, Colorado and George “Bubby” Hicks (Mindy) of Chesapeake, Virginia; 35 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two stepchildren, Loretta Helm and Verdise “Butch” Hicks; five brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
