Gregoria D. Roberto, 81, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at her residence. She was born on February 22, 1935 in Solsona Ilocos Norte, Philippines, the daughter of the late Vicente Dancel and Eulalia (Tomas) Dancel. Gregoria graduated from Ilocos Norte High School in Laoag Ilocos Norte and then earned her nursing degree from DeOcampo Memorial School of Nursing in Manilla, Philippines. She was a retired nurse from the old Benjamin V. Roberto, M.D. Family Practice in Austin, Indiana and a member of the Church of the American Martyrs in Scottsburg, Indiana. Greg loved her family, animals, traveling, cooking and Indiana University Basketball. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Benjamin V. Roberto, M.D., on Nov. 30, 1989; three brothers, Frederico, Pedro and Dr. Manuel Tomas Dancel and two sisters, Encarnacion Silvano and Rosa Ventura. Greg was married Sept. 30, 2000 to Fleurdeliz Guerrero, who survives. Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, Benjamin G. Roberto, Jr. and Rudy D. Roberto both of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters, Jane Roberto of Chicago, Illinois, Debbie A. Nickless and her husband Randy of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Lisa M. Roberto of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Lucena Ericta of the Philippines, Consuelo Ramos of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Marina Miguel of Chicago, Illinois and three grandsons, Justin, Cameron and Brendan Nickless.
