Hughes B. McKee, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 10, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late John Brown McKee and Betty (Blackburn) McKee. Hughes was a retired insurance and investment salesman for Met Life and various other companies. He was a member of Scottsburg First Christian Church and served his country during the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Hughes was preceded in death by two brothers, John B. McKee, Jr. and L.T. McKee, III and a sister, Sally Tarkington. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sarah (Feaster) McKee; two sons, Kurt McKee and his wife Kay of Scottsburg, Indiana and Andrew B. McKee; a sister, Harriet McKee of Cincinnati, Ohio and two grandchildren, Sarah and Kevin McKee. Memorial Contributions: First Christian Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Prayers for and condolences to the McKee family. Mr. McKee was a good man. I remember him fondly as a substitute teacher I had in junior high school, and continued to have the pleasure to see him on occasions in later years. He shall be surely missed.

Hughe was an amazing person with a great smile & personality! Anytime we saw him he talked about coaching Rick in baseball! He was so interesting to talk to he always had the greatest stories! Bless his heart he will be missed but when he gets to the pearly gates it's gonna take St Peter along time to get him through because he will talk his ear off lol! So sorry for your loss and Rick and I and are girls adored him!
