Ivan R. Wells, 82, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1932 in Scott County, Indiana, the son of the late J. Howard and Geneva (McDaniel) Wells. Ivan graduated from Lexington High School in the Class of 1950. He was married on March 15, 1953 to Beulah Miller. He was a retired co-owner and operator of the old Wells Seed House in Scottsburg, Indiana, a member of the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church, where he also served as Deacon, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Charter organizer and served on the Board of Directors of the old First National Bank of Scottsburg, member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge # 555 since 1950, former school board member for Scott County School District II, former Chairman and Board of Director for Scott Memorial Hospital, former Board of Director for the Scott County Extension and also the old Wells-Deal, Inc. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Beulah Wells; a daughter, Marcia Blevins and her husband Larry of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons, Russell Wells and his wife Vicki and Barry Wells all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Emerson Wells of DeKalb, Illinois; a sister, Estel Daniel of Prairieville, Louisiana; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
